In what has become a recurring nightmare for me, I give you the Tampa Airport renovation in light of new Uber stats. In Q4 2015, business travelers using Uber surpassed those using rental cars for the first time (43% vs 40% respectively). This seems reasonable until you consider that TIA is halfway through a $1b renovation which includes, among other things, increased parking capacity and an off-site rental car facility. By the time construction has completed will either of them be necessary? How many other developments in the planning stages now will be obsolete by the time they complete?
